A little bit about us
Let us tell you about us and the journey to Healthy Holistic Happiness
My journey into Holistic/Complementary therapies, began primarily as a result of family illness (including my own). I discovered the amazing beneficial impact therapies had on mine and my family members’ health & wellbeing. I had previously worked for a major Cancer Charity with a clear career path ahead of me but life changed almost overnight when my then 10 year old daughter was diagnosed with severe life-threatening heart disease and given a very poor prognosis. My husband, who’d previously been diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation but not heart disease, was also diagnosed within months and told to leave work immediately; so in 1996/7 I became a carer.
I graduated in 2000 as a mature student in Cultural Studies but my ‘carees’ worsened so my teaching path had to be postponed. In 2006/2007 I decided to train as a holistic therapist and in Anatomy and Physiology as family members and I had benefited so greatly from holistic therapies; as we still continue to benefit.
I wanted to set my daughter a good example and build a new career to show her we can do things despite adversity. It was also important to me that I pursue a path that could also support others, having previously been in positions that did this. As time passed I trained to become a Laughter Yoga Leader, a 1-2-1 Coach and a Laughter Yoga Leader Teacher. I was so enthused by learning about all the benefits of building awareness of the mind-body connection to achieve wonderful health benefits and the like, that I studied a great deal more. I studied Happiness coaching with Jules Mitchell – a Key note speaker and nationally acclaimed teacher of neurological and behavioural science, positive psychology etc. Jules has built very valuable and comprehensive packages for use within organisations, schools and of course for individuals and has shared these extensively through the print media, television and radio. I’ve also studied with Robert Holden, Happiness guru and on a year long teaching pathway to become a Mindfulness Teacher, equipping myself with tools to not only self-help but also to pass on to & empower those I encounter in this journey of life.
This has equipped me to be able to offer a great deal more to individuals and corporations and, of course, the resilience I’ve built from being a carer for over 22 years has greatly enhanced my capacity to share helping coping strategies to others. I am currently offering commissioned comprehensive stress relief packages to fellow carers
I do not suggest that holistic therapies replace orthodox medicine but they certainly do complement it.
Please explore this website to find out more about the therapies, workshops and practices Healthy Holistic Happiness offers and a little bit about me too.
When delivering holistic therapies or one-to-one talking therapies I offer a warm, cosy and relaxing therapy room at my home in Bourne, Lincolnshire; this room is upstairs but has disabled access via a stair lift and access to my home is disabled-friendly. I will happily treat clients at home, their place of work or elsewhere, should this be more convenient for them.
I do currently visit some disabled clients in their own homes as this is a necessity for them to receive treatment.
Please note that depending on the travelling distance required, I may need to ask for a contribution towards fuel costs. Please get in touch to discuss your needs.
I am registered with the VTCT (Vocational Training Charitable Trust) & a member of both the Federation and Guild of Holistic Therapies and the International Council of Holistic Therapists. Over the years I have studied extensively and I am a fully qualified Laughter Yoga Leader, Coach and Laughter Yoga Leader Teacher and in October 2017 I was made an Ambassador by Madan Kataria the founder of Laughter Yoga. I am affiliated to the School of Laughter Yoga and am fully insured through the Federation of Holistic Therapists. As said previously, I have also qualified as a Big Happiness Coach and amp; completed my Mindfulness Teacher Training Pathway last year; so I am a qualified Mindfulness Teacher.
I am listed on the FHT’s Complementary Healthcare Therapist Register, which was approved as an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority in January 2014.
I hope you enjoy your visit to Healthy Holistic Happiness and that you return again soon.
Love, Light & Laughter Linda 🙂
